Daniel's Prayer 다니엘의 기도(다니엘 6장10절)

Today's Verse

Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before. (Daniel 6:10)

다니엘이 이 조서에 왕의 도장이 찍힌 것을 알고도 자기 집에 돌아가서는 윗방에 올라가 예루살렘으로 향한 창문을 열고 전에 하던 대로 하루 세 번씩 무릎을 꿇고 기도하며 그의 하나님께 감사하였더라 (단6:10)

조서가 나왔습니다(the decree had been published). 왕 외의 어떤 신이나 사람에게 무엇을 구하면 사자 굴에 던져 넣기로 한(anyone who prays to any god or man except to king shall be thrown into the lions' den) 왕의 금령입니다. 다니엘은 그것을 알고도, 하나님께서 더 크신 분이심을 알았기에, 하루 세 번씩 무릎을 꿇고 기도하며 그 하나님께 감사하였습니다. 나는 어떠한가요? 오늘 내가 하나님께 무릎 꿇어 기도한다고 누가 생명을 위협(threat)하는지? 아니면 밥이라도 안 주는지? 때리기(beating)라도 하나요? 돈이라도 빼앗나요? 목숨을 걸고 하나님과의 기도약속을 잊지 않았던 다니엘처럼 나도 하나님께 기도하는 시간을 잊지 말고 지켜 긴밀한 교제를 가져봅시다.

Almighty God, I want to learn Daniel's attitude. Everyday he gave thanks to God without exception. I want to make it a rule to pray everyday and give thanks to You. Help me to continue it. In the name of my Savior Jesus. Amen.
