My Citizenship 나의 시민권(빌립보서 3장 20절))

Today's Verse

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, (Phil 3:20)

그러나 우리의 시민권은 하늘에 있는지라 거기로부터 구원하는 자 곧 주 예수 그리스도를 기다리노니 (빌3:20)

강대국(the world powers)의 시민권(citizenship)을 가지고 있다는 것은 그 권리가 막대합니다. 우리의 시민권은 어디에 있나요? 바로 앞 구절에 보면 땅의 일을 생각하는 이들을 언급하면서(Their mind is on earthly things), 그러나(But) 우리의 시민권은 하늘에 있다고 합니다(our citizenship is in heaven). 모든 길은 로마로 통한다던 로마도 쇠퇴하였고, 위상을 자랑하던 대영제국도 예전의 영광 같지 못합니다. 하지만 하늘나라는 영원히 변치 않는 가장 확실하고 든든한 곳입니다. 그곳에서 나의 구세주 주님을 간절히 기다리며(eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ), 하늘나라 시민권을 가진 신분에 합당하게, 그 특권을 누리고 또한 내가 마땅히 해야 할 의무는 무엇인지 생각해 봅시다.

Prayer

Heavenly Father. My citizenship is in heaven, and I want to live a life here as Your follower. Guide my mind that I may give myself to You in thankfulness and love, and be used for Your kingdom. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
