Example 본;本(고린도전서 11장 1절)

Today's Verse

Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. (1 Corinthians 11:1)

내가 그리스도를 본받는 자가 된 것 같이 너희는 나를 본받는 자가 되라 (고전11:1)

따르라(Follow) 합니다. 무엇을 따라야 합니까? 청산유수처럼 술술 나오는 말이나, 달필의 글을 따르라는 것인가요? 나의 본(my example)을 따르라 합니다. 사도 바울은 스스로가 예수님의 본을 따랐습니다(I follow the example of Christ). 그리고 사람들에게 나를 본받으라 합니다. 우리가 따라야 할 것은 예수님의 본이며, 나의 그런 행동과 삶을 사람들에게 ‘나를 본받으라(Follow my example)’라고 할 수 있어야 합니다. 화려한 말재주나 달필의 글 솜씨가 필요 없습니다. 내가 예수님의 본을 따르는 삶을 살면 됩니다. 모든 것에 자신이 없다 해도, 아주 작은 것 하나부터, 최소한 이 부분만큼은 나를 본받으세요, 매일 말씀을 묵상하는 저를 본받으세요, 매일 기도하는 저를 본받으세요 이렇게 말할 수 있도록 오늘 예수님의 본을 작은 것 하나부터 정하여 따라 봅시다.

Ruler of all. Give me the firmness of faith to follow the example of Jesus so that others may follow my example. I pray that You give me the wisdom and strength to do just as Jesus showed. In Jesus' name, Amen.
