Obedience and All These Blessings 순종과 이 모든 축복(신명기 28장1절)

영어성경으로 깊고 새로운 묵상을 해 봅시다.

Today's Verse

If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. (Deuteronomy 28:1)

네가 네 하나님 여호와의 말씀을 삼가 듣고 내가 오늘 네게 명령하는 그의 모든 명령을 지켜 행하면 네 하나님 여호와께서 너를 세계 모든 민족 위에 뛰어나게 하실 것이라 (신28:1)

신명기 28장은 순종의 축복(blessings of obedience)에 대한 장으로 유명합니다. 모두가 복에 복 덩어리를 받기를 사모합니다. 이 장에 나오는 ‘머리가 되게 하시고’의 기도도 자주 합니다. 그런데 그 복을 받는 조건에 대해서는 복에 대한 사모만큼 눈여겨 주의깊게 보지 않는 경향이 있습니다. 말씀에는 뭐라고 되어있나요? 만약에(If), 하나님의 명령을 순종하고 지키면(If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands), 이 모든 축복이 나와 함께 하며 나를 따라다닌다고 하였습니다(All these blessings will come upon you and accompany you). 이 모든 축복(All these blessings)을 받으려 원하기 전에, 내가 순종해야 할 하나님의 말씀은 어떤 것이 있는지, 순종하고 있는지 돌아보면서 지키기에 힘써 봅시다.

Prayer

Eternal God, my faith is too weak to live according to Your will. Holy Spirit, please be with me. When You help me, I can fulfill Your will. Help me to overcome the temptation and follow Your will. Give me the faith to receive Your Word and the courage to put it into practice in my life. In Christ's name I pray. Amen.
