Rebuke 책망(잠언 9장 8절)

영어성경으로 깊고 새로운 묵상을 해 봅시다.

Today's Verse

Do not rebuke a mocker or he will hate you; rebuke a wise man and he will love you. (Proverb 9:8)

거만한 자를 책망하지 말라 그가 너를 미워할까 두려우니라 지혜 있는 자를 책망하라 그가 너를 사랑하리라 (잠9:8)

거만한 자는 책망을 받아들이기는커녕, 변명을 넘어 책망해주는 사람을 미워합니다. 그에게는 더 이상 사람들이 책망을 해 주지 않을 것입니다. 결과는 미움을 받기만 하니까요(Do not rebuke a mocker or he will hate you). 지혜 있는 자는 책망해 주는 사람을 ‘사랑’합니다(rebuke a wise man and he will love you). 책망과 훈계를 잘 듣고 그것을 고칠 경우는 책망을 받은 사람에게 유익하기 때문이겠지요.

부모님, 선생님, 형제자매, 친구들의 충고, 훈계, 책망 어떤 것이든, 내가 받고 적용하면 앞으로 나의 모습은 매일매일 더욱 발전하는 모습이 될 것입니다(improve everyday). 내가 지혜롭게 받아들여 나의 발전에 교훈으로 삼을 주위 사람들의 책망은 어떤 것이 있는지 돌아봅시다.

예) Sometimes I hated the person who rebuked me.

예) Let's accept others' rebuke and learn from it. That is good for me.

Prayer

God of wisdom. People in the world do not listen to others' advice and rebuke. They just believe what they are doing is right. Lord, I want to listen to others' words carefully and get the wisdom. Give me the wise heart. In Christ's name. Amen.
