Love with Actions 행동으로 사랑하라(요한일서 3장18절)

Today's Verse

Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. (1John 3:18)

자녀들아 우리가 말과 혀로만 사랑하지 말고 행함과 진실함으로 하자 (요일3:18)

사랑에 대한 이야기(stories), 노래(songs), 시(poems), 편지(letters)는 얼마나 많습니까. 인류의 온갖 Talk의 주된 주제가 아닌가 싶습니다. 교회에서도 학교에서도 직장에서도 ‘사랑합니다’ ‘사랑해요’ ‘당신은 사랑받기 위해 태어난 사람(You are created to receive the greatest love)~’ 이런 말들을 자주 하고 지내지만, 정말 행동으로 옮긴 사랑은 얼마나 되는지 돌아보게 됩니다. 말씀에서는 말과 혀(with words or tongue)로 사랑하지 말고 행동과 진실함으로(with actions and in truth) 사랑하라 하십니다. 내가 오늘 행동으로 나타내어야 할 사랑은 어떤 것인지(how to show my love) 생각해 보고 실천해 봅시다.

예) It was easy to tell others 'I love you', but I couldn't really love others with actions.

* How can I show my love in actions?

예) I will have time to pray for Sunday school teachers, and send them phone messages. At home, I'll serve others by cleaning the room and preparing some delicious food.

예) God of love, You tell us that we have to show our love with actions. Let me not just talk about love but practice real love by doing. Give me the wisdom to show Your love. Through the name of Jesus. Amen.
