The Most Important Thing 가장 중요한 일(사도행전 20장 24절)

Today's Verse

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me--the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace. (Acts 20:24)

내가 달려갈 길과 주 예수께 받은 사명 곧 하나님의 은혜의 복음을 증언하는 일을 마치려 함에는 나의 생명조차 조금도 귀한 것으로 여기지 아니하노라 (행20:24)

한글성경에는 나타나지 않는 However는 앞 구절에서 성령께서 바울에게 결박(prison)과 환난(hardships)이 기다린다는 증언을 했다는 내용과 관련됩니다. 보통사람 같으면 결박과 환난을 생각만 해도 잠이 안 올 텐데, 바울은 자기 생명은 그리 중요치 않다고 하며(I consider my life worth nothing to me) 주님께서 맡기신 일인 하나님의 은혜의 복음을 증거하는 일(the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace)을 위해 달려갑니다. 생명까지 아끼지 아니한 바울 사도의 태도를 묵상해 보면서, 주님의 복음의 진보를 위해 나는 어떤 태도로 어떻게 동참할 수 있을지를 찾아봅시다.
