not A but B 구문을 써서 우리의 싸움이 어디에 대항해야 할지를 알려 주십니다. 사람과의 관계에서 크고 작은 일로 사소한 감정이 상하기도 하고 에너지를 소모하게 되는 일들이 종종 생길 수 있습니다. 누가 옳고 그르냐, 내가 받은 평가에 대해 한참 생각하고 속상해 하거나 되뇌다 보면, 주님의 일에 더 적극적으로 드려지지 못하게 됩니다. 그럴 때 이 말씀을 보면 이런 모습이 부끄러워지면서 쉽게 해결이 됩니다. 우리의 싸움(our struggle)은 사람들(human beings)에 대항한 것이 아니라 악의 영들(the wicked spiritual forces)에 대한 것이라 말씀해 주십니다. 어둠의 세력에 대항하는 데에 내 에너지와 노력을 쏟기에도 바쁜데, 사람들과의 사소한 감정 상함에 민감해지지 맙시다. 내가 싸워야 할 상대는 하나님의 형상대로 지음 받고 내가 섬길 대상인 사람들이 아닌 악의 영들이기 때문입니다.

우리의 씨름은 혈과 육을 상대하는 것이 아니요 통치자들과 권세들과 이 어둠의 세상 주관자들과 하늘에 있는 악의 영들을 상대함이라 (엡6:12)

1. Against whom was I struggle? (나는 누구를 대항하여 싸움을 하였나요?)

2. Against whom should my fight be and what can I do for that? (나의 싸움은 누구를 대항해야 하며 이를 위해 무엇을 할 수 있을까요?)

3. Prayer: Lord, let me not fight against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces. May all those who are separated from You reconciled through Jesus our Savior. In Jesus' name, Amen.
