Making Enemies into Friends 적을 친구로 만드는 비결(잠언 16장7절)

When a man's ways are pleasing to the LORD, he makes even his enemies live at peace with him.(Proverbs 16:7) (NIV)

*even: …까지도, …조차(도) at peace with~: ~와 평화스럽게

When you please the Lord, you can make your enemies into friends.(Good News Bible)

*enemy: 적, 원수 make A into B: A를 B로 만들다

이 말씀을 읽을 때마다 “He makes even his enemies live at peace with him.” 가 감사합니다. 로미오와 쥴리엣 집안과 같은 원수지간이라 하더라도 평화롭게, 그리고 ‘친구’가 되게 해 주신다고 약속하시니까요. 그 비결은 무엇인가요? ‘Pleasing the Lord' 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 것입니다. 내가 하나님이 기뻐하시는 일을 하고 기뻐하시는 태도와 마음 가운데 살 때, 사람들과의 관계는 하나님께서 책임져 주십니다.

나와 적이 되는 사람이 없길 바라는 것은 누구나 마찬가지일 것입니다. 많은 사람들이 ‘인간관계’로 어려움과 스트레스를 받고 있지요. 그 부분에 대한 해결책을 이 말씀을 통해 하나님께서 우리에게(나에게) 제시해 주신 것에 대해 너무 감사합니다. 어떻게 해야 그 사람이 날 이렇게 생각할까 등 다른 사람들과의 관계로 힘들 때, 복잡한 생각을 하나님께 맡기고, 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 삶에 열심히 드려집시다. 또한 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 행위란 것은, 다른 사람에 대한 존중, 겸손, 사랑 등도 포함하는 것일 것입니다. 그것을 그 사람과 나와의 관계로 생각하지 말고, 나는 하나님을 기쁘시게 한다는 마음으로 행할 때 내게도 기쁨이 충만하게 된답니다.

사람의 행위가 여호와를 기쁘시게 하면 그 사람의 원수라도 그로 더불어 화목하게 하시느니라 (잠언 16:7)

-> Why do I worry about the relationship with others? Why don't you try to please the Lord?

How can I please the LORD?

-> The Lord wants me to love Him and obey His words.

What can I apply?

I was worried about the relationship with some fellow workers, and thought about the ways to go well with them. But why wasn't I concerned about the works of the Lord? I was neglected in caring for my students in Sunday school. I will pray for them and prepare more for the Bible study.

Prayer

My Father. I was very sensitive in others' praise but my concern was not that much on You. Forgive me my selfish attitude. I want to concentrate more on You. Help me to obey Your words. I believe that You make even my enemies into friends when I please You. Thank you for the promise and help me to fix my eyes on You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
