Today's Verse
Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. (Jeremiah 33:3)
너는 내게 부르짖으라 내가 네게 응답하겠고 네가 알지 못하는 크고 은밀한 일을 네게 보이리라 (렘33:3)
이 구절은 나의 제한된 생각을 벗어나서 하나님의 크심을 묵상하며 그 놀라운 응답을 맘껏 기대해 주게 합니다. 너는 내게 부르짖으라!(Call to me) 내가 할 것은 부르짖는 일입니다. 하나님께 부르짖을 때에 주님은 분명히 내게 응답해 주신다고 하셨고(I will answer you) 그 응답의 수준이 내가 알고 있는 제한된 지식 내에서가 아니라 내가 알지도 못하는 위대하고 헤아릴 수 없는 일을 보인다(tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know) 하십니다. ‘unsearchable'에 주목해 봅니다. 이는 ‘탐지해 낼 수 없는, 헤아릴 수 없는, 은밀한, 비밀스런, 신비한, 불가사의한(mysterious)’의 뜻을 가지고 있습니다. 내가 보기에 단지 좋은 응답 정도가 아니라, 내가 헤아릴 수도 없고 신비한 불가사의한 수준의 응답을 하나님께서는 보여주신다 합니다. 이 놀라운 하나님의 응답을 기대하는 마음으로 하나님께 부르짖읍시다.

Almighty God. I can't measure how great You are. You are higher than the sky and deeper than the sea. I want to call You for my problems. Show me Your great things. I seek Your grace. With the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
