Yoido Full Gospel Church (Rev. Younghoon Lee) will hold its ¡®2015 Grand Prayer Rally for World Peace, Stability on the Korean Peninsula, and the Sharing of Hope¡¯ at Seoul World Cup Stadium on October 16.
With the theme ¡®Dream and Hope,¡¯ the rally will focus the power of prayer toward realization of world peace, overcoming of domestic economic and social crisis, and inspiration for the mission vocation. The anticipated 80,000 participants will include those attending the ongoing 26th Church Growth International (CGI) conference, being held from October 13 at Yoido Full Gospel Church, and pastors and believers of Yoido Church and its branch churches.
Yoido Full Gospel Church stated the purpose of the prayer rally as follows: ¡°For the past 130 years the Korean church has played a role in the growth and development of the country in the midst of hardships and challenges. But now it is losing its spiritual leadership as light and salt for the society, and Koreans view this as a serious situation¡¦ Christians in this land are called to become one through reconciliation and cooperation, and to proclaim God¡¯s dream and hope.¡±
The International Grand Prayer Rally will be in three parts. Rev. Younghoon Lee will deliver a sermon titled ¡®Pray and Ask in All Matters¡¯ at the first session, World Peace and Stabilization of the Korean Peninsula.
Sermons by world church leaders will follow. Rev. Ranjit Abraham (New India Assembly of God) will speak on ¡®Are You Ready to Say Yes?¡¯ New India Church is the largest in the New Delhi area, and has planted 4,000 churches throughout India. Rev. Harold Caballeros (El Shaddai Church, Guatemala) will preach on ¡®The Person of the Holy Spirit.¡¯ With 12,000 members, El Shaddai Church has 80 branch churches in the United States and Europe, and also established a college to foster Christian leaders in Guatemala. Lastly, Rev. Yukio Funatsu (Kanazawa Christ Church, Japan) will deliver a sermon titled ¡®Lord, Please Forgive the Sins of the Homeland. People of Korea, Please Forgive the Country of Japan.¡¯ Then, Bob Rodgers (Evangel World Prayer Center, U.S.A.) and Prince Guneratnam (Calvary Church, Malaysia) will lead prayers for world peace, stability on the Korean Peninsula, and church revival.
In the second part, Hope of Sharing, participants will pray together with one heart for suffering and marginalized neighbors, and will present a donation to the socially marginalized. The fund has been accumulated through Yoido Church¡¯s campaign ¡®Fortunate Korea¡¯ since August, and will be used for children with intractable diseases, infertile couples, elderly persons living alone, and young people looking for jobs, through the international relief and development organization Good People.
Rev. Yonggi Cho will deliver a sermon, Look up to Heaven, in the third part, Dream and Hope.
The participants will close the rally by praying aloud for the evangelization of Korea and its peaceful reunification, revitalization and revival of the economy, restoration of the spiritual leadership of the Korean church, and communication about the Gospel and the ministry of world mission.
