God's Good Intention 하나님의 선하신 의도(창세기 50장20절)

Today's Verse

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. (Genesis 50:20)

당신들은 나를 해하려 하였으나 하나님은 그것을 선으로 바꾸사 오늘과 같이 많은 백성의 생명을 구원하게 하시려 하셨나니 (창50:20)

요셉처럼 형들에게 악감을 품었을 만한 이가 있을까요? 노예생활과 감옥생활을 하게 하였으니, 보통사람들 같으면 형들에게 복수(revenge)의 칼을 갈았을 것입니다. 그러나 요셉은, 형들의 나쁜 의도도 하나님께서 선으로 바꾸심을 믿었고(You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good) 그래서 오늘날 이루어진 것처럼 많은 백성의 생명을 구원케 되었다고 고백합니다(accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives). 사람의 의도(people's intention)은 때로 나쁜 것일 수도 있습니다. 하지만 하나님께서는 그런 사람들의 나쁜 의도까지도 선한 의도(Good intention)로 바꾸셔서 더 큰 일을 이루어나가실 수 있습니다. 내게도 원망이 나올 수 밖에 없는 상황이 있나요? 그 사람, 상황을 탓하지 말고, 하나님의 선한 의도를 믿으며 요셉처럼 섬기고 배우는 삶을 삽시다.

Prayer

Most loving God, I cannot comprehend the ways in which You work. Help me not to blame others when things go wrong. Let me find Your intention in all difficulties. In Christ's name I pray, Amen.
