Don't copy this world 이 세대를 따라하지 말고(로마서12장 2절)

Today's Verse

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2)

너희는 이 세대를 본받지 말고 오직 마음을 새롭게 함으로 변화를 받아 하나님의 선하시고 기뻐하시고 온전하신 뜻이 무엇인지 분별하도록 하라 (롬12:2)

대중매체나 주위 사람들을 통해 사람들의 사고방식, 습관, 행동 등을 접하다 보면, 은연중에 생각 없이 그것을 따라 하게(copy) 됩니다. 하나님께서는 이 세상의 행동과 관습(the behavior and customs of this world)을 그대로 같은 모양이 되도록 따르거나(conform) 생각 없이(without thinking) 이 세상의 문화에 동화(well-adjusted)되지 말라 하십니다. 하나님께서 나의 생각하는 방식을 바꾸어(renewing of your mind) 나를 새로운 사람으로 변화(transform)시키시도록 해야 합니다. 그렇게 할 때 하나님의 선하시고 받을만하며 완전한 뜻도 알게 될 것입니다. 내가 생각 없이 접하며 따르고 있었던 세상 모습은 어떤 것인지, 내가 따를 가장 좋고 온전한 하나님의 뜻이 오늘 나에게 어떤 것인지를 생각해 봅시다.

Loving God, Let me not copy this world without thinking. Please change the way I think. Let me be able to discern what God really wants and obey that. In Jesus' name, Amen.
